How to disable Google location tracking

Google continues to track your Windows desktop even you have opted out of its tracking services. If you are looking to shut down Google’s ability to see where you are, here are the steps you can take.

This is a critical issue and it may be blocked if you think it is though we warn you, it’s not exactly easy to reach them. You can change it through account settings to prevent users from disabling them.

To stop Google from tracking you, here’s you can disable it. It only takes few clicks to turn off location tracking services.

  • Click on Google Chrome Menu icon > settings
  • Scroll it down and click on Advanced settings

In content settings, select ‘do not allow any site to show pop-ups (recommended) and set the options given in the image below as selected there.

Google Location

If you want to turn off location tracking on your android device, for example, you must use the same account that you used on your phone. You need to first disable tracking on the local device before making any changes to your account.

Go to Google.com in your browser to access account information. On desktop, click your profile picture and click on Google account.

Then, go to personal info > Manage your Google activity > Go to activity controls

Several sections are included here, you need to disable them. If you want to know about your past tracked locations, Go to Manage activity in location section.

Google stores a lot of information about you if you don’t block location tracking and other features associated with it. So, if you want to protect your data, now you are aware what you have to do.
